Blackbriar have released a number of excellent EPs and are preparing for their debut album, all the while never dropping the standard of their opulent gothic sound. They tell stories like every day is a Halloween evening, with a fair amount of death, grief, eternal love and a triggering the need to crack out the eye shadow.
They released a video for their single ‘Selkie’ over the weekend. This is, by their own admission, their most story telling song (and that’s saying a lot as they’re mostly always telling a story), and it has a fully animated video which casts their singer as the Selkie in a tale of jealousy and tragedy.
What’s a Selkie? Well you’ll have to watch to find out. Their album The Cause of the Shipwreck is out April 23rd. Hopefully the Selkie hoodie will follow.
