Sam Mendes, he of Skyfall, American Beauty and 1917, has announced he’s doing a Beatles biopic… well, no, that’s not enough for Sam. He’s doing four.
Yes, Mendes plans to create four films, one from each Beatle’s point of view. What’s more, he has permission from all the relevant band members or their families, and rights to use their music and lives. I.e. this is fully official.
No word on if they’ll all be played back to back or released over a period, but Sony promises an “innovative release cadence,” which could mean anything.
