The Co-Op Live venue has made the Co-Op synonymous with failure

It was supposed to be Manchester’s, and Britain’s, great new venue. They had Peter Kay lined up along with Olivia Rodriguez to really place ‘Co-Op Live’ on the map.

Unfortunately for fans, the opening has been an unremitting failure, with show after show postponed. Peter was cancelled, and Olivia’s were today. Others have been too. The venue just isn’t ready for business.

And while this is terrible for gig goers – no one has any idea if the ticket holders for May 3rd and 4th will ever actually be able to see Olivia – it’s worse for the Co-Op.

Once famous as a supermarket always open when you needed it, it’s now associated completely with failure. The owners of the Co-Op have said they will be demanding a “full explanation.”
