The National are primed to release their first album in four years on April 28th, and there’s now a second song you can hear from it: New Order T-Shirt.

Yes, it’s called New Order T-Shirt.

I mean, the album is called First Two Pages of Frankenstein, so what did we expect, but brilliantly the band are selling a t-shirt about New Order with the proceeds going to charity. But we’re here for the song, which you can stream below.

It’s typical of the National sound, with guitarist Aaron Dessner explaining, “There’s a simplicity to ‘New Order T-Shirt’ that reminds me of our earlier records, but with the full maturity and experience we have now. It feels like a really important song for the future of our band.” Furthermore, “To me the line ‘I keep what I can of you’ means something about everyone I’ve ever known or loved.”
