To celebrate the fifty year anniversary of David Bowie’s Hunky Dory, Mattel are releasing an official Barbie paying tribute to the great man.
Now, technically this isn’t the first Bowie Barbie, as they did one in 2019 to celebrate Space Oddity, but our minds had mercifully erased that from our memory so it’s all come back as a shock today.
The price is $50, and we have no idea if that’s a lot for a Barbie. It feels a lot considering they’re normally a kids toy.
Toymakers Mattel have announced a second collectable doll in their @Barbie as Bowie range, where Barbie’s look is based on Bowie’s appearance in @TheRealMickRock directed Life On Mars? video. It’s available to purchase now: https://t.co/T1OofJG2v2 #Barbie #BarbieAsBowie pic.twitter.com/g6CUPsvrpi
