They’ve found Gary the Gorilla

Gary the Gorilla was an eight foot tall fibreglass statue of, well, a gorilla, belonging to the Reynaud Nursery (the plant sort) in Lanarkshire, Scotland. It was a local icon, and was decorated for seasonal events.

Well, it was until 22:30 on March 19th 2023, when someone unbolted Gary, loaded him in a van and drove off towards Glasgow.

A year of sightings and hunting hadn’t found Gary, but we’re pleased to say the staff of Bear Scotland, whose job is maintaining roads, found him sat in a layby on the A92 in Fife this week. They’ve probably not had many weirder days.

No, no one has any idea where he’s been, or why he was dumped there. We are hoping for some bizarre online footage soon.
