The fallout from Ticketmaster’s shenanigans during the Oasis ticket sale continues, with the Competition and Markets Authority giving what, in their terms, is a right telling off.
The CMA have ruled that Ticketmaster “may have misled Oasis fans” but oddly not because of the dynamic pricing. It was because Ticketmaster were selling “platinum” tickets for over twice the price of standard tickets despite their being no additional benefits from buying one.
“This risked giving consumers the misleading impression that platinum tickets were better.”
“We now expect Ticketmaster to work with us to address these concerns so, in future, fans can make well-informed decisions when buying tickets,” an official said.
