Tom Hollander is a very talented actor who has problems with people seeing the name and confusing him for Spiderman star Tom Holland. Problem is, that confusion applied to the accounts department of his agents.
Hollander explained all on Seth Myers. It begins with him watching a friend perform for a £300 fee:
“I sat smugly in the audience having just done a BBC show for £30,000 or something which was going to get me through the next year or so, and I was thinking, ‘Well, this is marvellous, I’m very prosperous.'”
Then he checked his email in the interval and saw one titled “Box office bonus for The Avengers”.
“It was an astonishing amount of money… It was not his salary. It was his first box office bonus. Not the whole box office bonus, the first one. And it was more money than I’d ever [seen]. It was a seven-figure sum…. My feeling of smugness disappeared.”
Oops for the accounts department.
