#FreeBritney refers to the campaign to save pop legend Britany Spears from the control of her father, something that’s daily in the news (and seems to be trending the right way for Britany.)
#FreeBrittany is the slogan on ten thousand t-shirts that British wholesaler Karl Baxter is left with after someone royally fucked up an order. If you’re wondering, Brittany is an area of modern day France with a strong independent streak of its own.
The plan was to flog Free Britney shirts and donate only 20% of proceeds to the popular campaign. Instead he’s reduced to asking people to buy them for the memes: “I’m now stuck with loads of stock that is unlikely to go anywhere, so I’m appealing to any fans of the movement to invest in one.”
Meanwhile Twitter use Sam has a plan:
