When we reported last week that Wireless Festival had hired Kanye West to headline all three nights we weren’t sure how they got that past compliance (In fact in a statement today they said they had discussed it with stakeholders.)

Well, the whole thing has fallen apart in record time. Sponsors quit, including their main one Pepsi, and then the government saw a chance to look like they were doing something useful.

Although Kanye had been granted permission to come (according to Wireless’ boss), Starmer and co popped up and the permission was withdrawn, effectively banning Kanye from the UK.

Everyone will be refunded.
