Picture the scene. Twenty three Polish athletes, the entire swimming team, arrive in Tokyo ready for the Olympic games…
…where they find there’s only seventeen places for them, and their bosses have royally fucked up and sent too many swimmers.
But, sadly, that’s what happened, and the six have had to go home: Alicja Tchórz, Mateusz Chowaniec, Aleksandra Polańska, Jan Hołub, Bartosz Piszczorowicz and Dominika Kossakowska.
They are understandably gutted, and have demanded the head of the Polish Swimming Federation quit.
