Many years ago, a young man lived the dream by being spotted while busking and getting signed to a label… until he came down with Lyme disease and was bedridden for 23 hours a day. It’s been years now but Ren never stopped creating music, and has crowd-funded support to work with doctors abroad to aid his recovery… according to Facebook, he will be moving over the Atlantic later this month.

But in the last few months the resurgent Ren has performed some special shows where the theatre is as strong as the music, and fortunately for us he’s captured that experience in the video for Violet’s Tale.

This is truly one of the most remarkable filmed performance pieces we’ve seen, as Ren sings and acts through the empty backstreets. We loved it, and then we discovered the situation he’s in.
