Benga‘s trying to navigate some middle ground between stadium smashing vocal dubstep and his own more ghostly brand of electronica here- so Icons is a little bit Nero bluster and a little bit skunk haze paranoia, and, fair play to him, it’s alright– but maybe its in danger of appealing to not many; too deep for the charts and too cheesy anthemic for the underground. Still, the video has Benga and singer Bebe Black chucking themselves out of a plane (strapped to the front of men with parachutes), and for ridiculous budget spunking nonsense that gets my vote.
