Father John Misty yesterday ousted a new track on his Soundcloud in which he satirises contemporary art, the internet and faux-counterculture.
The tender ballad breathes steadily, reaching a sombre, sparse climax when it asks: “Do you usually listen to music like this? We can recommend some similar artists. Are you feeling depressed? But your feedback’s important to us.”
It is the first piece of completely new music released since the former Fleet Foxes man’s breakthrough 2015 album, ‘I Love You, Honeybear”.
