I haven’t pressed play yet, but I’ve seen that Holy Vessels are releasing their debut single on their own label, which is called Hello Babe! Records. So I like them already.

The band are from Brighton, and this single is a perfect soundtrack for the drive down through rural countryside to Sussex’s little fun spot. Connoted promises of beer gardens, fruity ciders and open-minded young maidens are abound, with a little drawn out lap-steel to give it that extra bit of rustic charm. Holy Vessels have built up an impressive resumé of support slots and festival appearences with their roots-infused alt-country sound. This single, available as a FREE download, sticks to that blue-print and gives a good hint as to what their upcoming debut album may hold.

The wheel hasn’t been reinvented, but if you’re looking for a decent little number to add to your Summer evening playlist then this would be fine.
