Nessa Barrett is a twenty one year old American singer, and by god has she released a brilliant EP.
Called ‘Hell Is A Teenage Girl’, every song aches with the pain of modern life, but burns with anger too. The title track fires off at the impossibility of young women feeling happy given the brutal, contradictory and misogynistic society we live in, Motel Whore would be a Lana Del Rey slow burner, and Bang Bang has some of Olivia’s punching.
Superb stuff.
