Swedish hipster favourites Little Dragon return with another slice of under stated skippy electro magic. ‘Little Man’ runs in on a cantering beat that sounds like it’s desperately trying to overtake itself. Over this Yukimi Nagano’s restrained vocal shares the stage with Fredrick Wallin’s bouncing disco bass and sparse shimmers of synth. There are nods to both the jerking punk funk of ESG and the mutant dance pioneered by DFA Records, with the band bringing enough of their own personality to proceedings to elevate ‘Little Man’ way above mere imitation. Worth checking.
