I finally and I mean finally got to upgrade from my iPhone 13 after 2 years. I am ecstatic and slightly angry about the fact I changed numbers as it caused so much hell across all my online accounts but I think it’s sorted now, or I hope. Anyway, is this phone worth the hype?
As a media gal, I used my iPhone 13 for filming projects. The downside was always the zoom, it wasn’t great at all. Not fun when I was at concerts and had a bad view. This phone, the zoom is insanity, it’s amazing. It has 3 cameras on the back and one on the front. It records very high quality with good stability. I can access the camera from a button on the side now, more convenient for those moments you need a quick photo or video. I’m waiting to try it on the moon as even my camera doesn’t zoom this far. I’m at a concert soon and I can’t wait to try it out from the furthest row back for trial.
It’s perfect for me to do writing on while on the go. I wrote my articles on here faster than I ever did before. Hopefully they’ll go to my pages account easy. My cloud is still a bit weird but I do have many devices.
There’s no new apps added in this round which I’m glad. I barely use half of them anyway. I mostly just use pages and socials. Although, I absolutely love the AI creative studio I have on MacBook, it’s not on this phone yet, that I know of. I haven’t explored.
AI can assist on all the apps nearly which I love. I only love AI when it’s used for positive things and to make life easier. No matter how much I try, I will never know everything. Luckily, I can get help fast about things.
There’s a new screensaver mode which I’m not a fan of but I’m guessing that can be changed in the settings when I find it.
Battery life is awesome. Obviously it is new so it will be.
It is USBC, I’m glad. I’ve waited for this moment. All my other devices are. It means I don’t have to take my charger out with me anymore, I can borrow someone else’s. It makes me happy. The charger quality is much better than before. It is lined with material, the same way my MacBook is. Best design upgrade in forever. No more broken wires, or I hope. It doesn’t come with a plug but let’s face it, we have them from previous models or devices.
There’s a new button for silent and loud. Works easily. Less clicky.
If you’re listening to music, it is shown at the top next to the camera with a little cover photo and song identification. That’s my favourite. You drag it to skip etc. I don’t even have to quit what I’m doing to scroll.
Value for money? Well. I am paying £50pm Tesco club card for unlimited messages and calls. 100GB of data over 3 years. Other networks charge £70 for the same. Win. I was paying £48 for the 13. I only upgraded from 12 to 13, to my regret, when I realised how much I loved filming on it.
